Health and Safety Effectiveness

As outlined in the Company's Mission Statement, OME Drilling is committed to "upholding the highest standards of health and safety". This commitment is documented in OME's Safety Management Plan, implemented to work towards our ultimate objective of an injury and incident free company.

OME's Plans, Policies and Procedures are designed to deliver on our commitment to safety. Each employee's role in supporting our safety objectives is clearly established in order to promote an effective Occupational Health & Safety program.

OME's Safety Management System incorporates the process of risk management where specific tasks are broken down into steps in order to identify potential hazards. The risks associated with those hazards are then assessed against a risk matrix, and control measures are used to eliminate or reduce the hazard risk to OME and client employees.

OME's injury management system has been formalised to ensure that in the event that an injury does occur, there is a coordinated and managed process to facilitate recovery along with a return to suitable employment, where practicable and cost effective.

Where possible, employees' rehabilitation will be conducted “in-house” with due consideration of all related risk factors. Such rehabilitation will only be commenced where there is a benefit to be derived by the employee. The process is assisted by specialist medical providers with the expertise to achieve a positive result for all involved.
