Drilling Equipment
OME Drilling owns and operates six drill rigs, consisting of four diamond rigs, one multipurpose rig and one RC-only rig, for rough terrain. The Mindrill 66 is track mounted.
OME's rigs have been averaging 90% capacity, which together with the equipment doubleshifting, allows for approximately 21 hours of possible utilisation time per day. This is largely attributable to our stringent maintenance schedule which allows equipment to be kept up to a safe and acceptable standard for its effective operation.

OME has also recently purchased two smaller diamond rigs to allow the company to undertake a larger range of programs.
OME's fleet of rigs effectively support clients' exploration objectives and provide flexibility in a variety of different drilling programs. Increased exploration efficiencies can be achieved with OME's capacity to alternate rigs between different departments. The benefits include the reduction of operational costs associated with mobilisation, stand-by and the need for re-tendering for short-term work.
Every 250 hours the equipment is stood down and serviced and a thorough safety inspection is carried out. Relevant documentation on these shut-downs is maintained on site for future referencing.
